Arts and Culture Workshop 2009

For the third consecutive year, the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls will host its Arts & Culture Week, to enrich the lives of all its pupils through an international exchange of creative cultural expression and experiences. This year’s theme, Art That Sustains Us, demonstrates the value all art forms play in feeding the human spirit while respecting our world’s resources. OWLAG’s Arts & Culture Week will be held from June 15 to June 19, 2009.

The week-long celebration will enable learners to explore their creativity and delve into the world of sustainable art in a variety of forms. The girls will learn more about the arts of poetry, acting and storytelling and discover the beauty that lies within creative design and artistic presentation.

Helping the girls to achieve excellence across more than a dozen art genres, from cooking and sculpture and traditional story telling and dance, will be some well-known facilitators who are leading names in their chosen fields of artistic endeavor.
